Nichole Huggins, Day Program Director
Nichole Huggins
Executive Director

Nichole Huggins is a certified Special Education Teacher and licensed Children’s Minister. Her experience as a classroom teacher, special needs advocate, disability minister, and children’s minister, have prepared her to be a valuable leader in achieving the Rehoboth mission. She has served on staff as a disability minister for nearly two decades both locally and as the Global Special Needs Minister at Prestonwood Baptist Church. She uses her years of serving on staff as a special needs minister to partner with churches across the nation as a Regional Specialist for the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas and as a Disability Ministry Consultant where she helps to train and equip leaders to make room for people with disabilities.

Nichole has had the opportunity to be the keynote speaker for the “Banquet Network” Disability Conference, has been featured on “Pardon the Mess” Christian Parenting Podcast, featured on “Special Needs Motherhood” Podcast, a speaker for the “Wonderfully Made” Special Needs Conference, a breakout speaker at “All Access” Disability Ministry Conference, a breakout speaker for “Right Now Media”, and many others.

Nichole and her husband Jake have two beautiful children, Grace and Ezra. As the parent of a child with special needs, Nichole understands the trials, triumphs, and life lessons of having a child with Autism. She desires to be a catalyst for change within the world of special needs.

Jocelyn
Staff

Jocelyn brings a wealth of experience and a heart full of compassion to our team! She has served in special education classrooms for several years, providing one-on-one and small group support, assisting with behavior guidance, and helping maintain a safe and structured learning environment. As a parent of two children who have special needs, she brings both professional experience and personal understanding to her role. Jocelyn is excited to be part of the Rehoboth Acres family and looks forward to making a difference in the lives of our Citizens each day!

Bridget
Staff

Bridget brings both passion and experience to our Rehoboth Acres team. She is a certified teacher with a Bachelor of Science degree and a heart for serving others. Before earning her certification, Bridget spent three years as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom, where she developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She loves creating a nurturing, engaging space where individuals with IDD feel seen, valued, and empowered. We’re so thankful to have Bridget as part of the Rehoboth Acres family!

Emily
Staff

Emily brings both experience and joy to our Rehoboth Acres team. She is a certified teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Texas Baptist University. Emily carries a deep passion for creating inclusive, nurturing spaces where every person feels valued, empowered, and loved.

Emily has a beautiful heart for service and is genuinely excited to pour into our Citizens. Her gentle spirit, creativity, and Christ-centered approach make her such a blessing to our community. We are truly grateful the Lord brought Emily to the Rehoboth Acres family!

Marion
Staff

Marion brings incredible experience and wisdom to our team! Marion has her associates, is currently working toward her bachelor’s degree in social work, and has spent 13 years as a QIDP-A in an intermediate care facility supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She’s also served as a field supervisor, ensuring quality care and support for individuals with IDD. Marion’s heart for helping others grow and thrive is a true blessing to Rehoboth Acres. She is excited for the opportunity to walk alongside our Citizens and pour into their lives with compassion and purpose.

Jenifer Pope
Treasure

Jenifer was born and raised in East Texas, is a mother of 2 boys, age 8 and 5, her oldest of which has severe nonverbal autism. She has a masters degree in psychology and is committed to advocating for those with intellectual disabilities. Her life goal is to establish a safe and nurturing living environment for her son’s future and for the peace of mind of knowing her son will be well taken care of long after she is gone.

Bridget
Board Member

Rebecca Holland lives in East Texas with her husband of 29 years, Paul. She has a background in education, both in the regular and special education classrooms. In 2019, she became guardian to her brother, Jim, who has autism, intellectual disability, and blindness. Her desire is to be a voice for Jim, his community, and the families that care for a loved one with special needs.

Joey & Jody Maples
Board Member

Joey and Jody Maples have three children, Jackson, Sawyer, and Rose. Jackson is studying Construction Science at Texas A&M, Sawyer is a junior at Hallsville ISD, and Rose is seven. Joey is a manufacturing leader at Eastman Chemical, and Jody owns Gypsy Rose, a clothing boutique.

The Maples began fostering ten years ago, and through that experience, ended up adopting their daughter Rose. Rose has a diagnosis of IDD and autism, currently receives ABA therapy, and is thriving. The Maples have a heart for special needs children and helping other families get the support they need.

Kyle Pope

Board Member

Kyle lives in Hallsville, Texas, with his wife, Jenifer, and their two boys, Noah and Parker. He has been a practicing CPA at his firm, McMinn, Pope, Woodfin & Shaw, for 10 years. Noah, their oldest, has autism. Kyle enjoys spending time with both of their boys, doing the things that they love, like soccer, baseball, swimming, and being outside. They enjoy attending their church, FBC Hallsville. Kyle strives to praise and serve God in everything he does.

Shelley Scraver
Shelley Scraver
Board Member

Shelley Scraver has a background in emergency and health education nursing. When she became mom to her fourth child, she pivoted into the adoption and special needs advocacy world where God has allowed her to use her background in nursing in a whole new way. Although adopting a child with autism wasn’t in her life plan, she is grateful that God has used her son to show her family what really matters to our Lord.

Misty Gee
Board Member

Misty has been married to Will for 27 years and has raised 3 amazing girls, Juliann (24), Emma (21) and Sophie (19), in the Liberty City Community.  Misty has worked at Sabine ISD for nearly 15 years and is the Executive Director of the Sabine Education Foundation.  Their oldest daughter Juliann was diagnosed with autism when she was 5 years old and currently attends Rehoboth Acres.  Their family has grown with compassion towards others and believes everyone needs a purpose and deserves a safe and loving environment to thrive in.
